In popular tradition there are some old recipes and natural remedies dating back to the times when oil was used for many purposes, and they are still very effective.

CHAPPED HANDS

Soak hands for 30 minutes in olive oil

LICE TREATMENT

In the past, extra virgin olive oil was the most natural treatment to combat infestations of lice because it dissolved the exoskeleton of parasites

WRINKLES PREVENTION

Make a light massage with oil and lemon twice a week

PREVENTION DRUNKENNESS

Take 15 ml of olive oil before you start drinking, it will slacken alcohol absorption and will facilitate digestion

AS LAXATIVE

Take 15 ml of olive oil in the morning, on an empty stomach, with a glass of water (not cold)

CHAPPED LIPS

During winter time, wet your lips with a few drops of olive oil before going out

EAR PAIN

A few drops of warm olive are an effective and quick remedy to soothe a strong earache. To treat infections use an infused olive oil and a crushed garlic to apply in sick ear.

RELAX LOWER LIMBS

Mix in equal amounts of extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice and gently massage legs and feet

REMOVING CHEWING-GUM

Apply extra virgin olive oil on chewing-gum for 5-10 minutes; then remove it easily.

SHINY HAIR

Mix one egg yolk, 15 ml of extra virgin olive oil, 125 ml of beer and the juice of one lemon. Massage the scalp with the mixture, then wash with shampoo

PERFUMED OIL

Let macerate 400g of rose petals in 500 ml of extra virgin olive oil for a week

PROTECTION HAIR FROM SEA WATER

Mix one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and 10 drops of thyme essence
